I have always been a Battlefield fan and have played all of the earlier versions, including Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142. And I was disappointed that the first Bad Company was console only. I prefer PC play for this type of game.
So, on the release date in March 2010, I got the PC version of Battlefield 2 Bad Company.
Even though I could get the Xbox or PS3 versions, I got the PC version because I feel that lately, the gaming companies have been ignoring the PC games too much or the PC versions seem more dumbed down like without multiplayer support or with no dedicated server support which limits the number of players on the map. (for example Modern Warfare 2). and to make matters worst, to shrink the map size to compensate for the reduced number of players. The PC version of Battlefield 2 isn’t a ported version from a console and I prefer the way it plays, as a classic first-person shooter ought to play.
It also doesn’t take a dozen clicks to get online. Instead, designed for the PC, getting into the game is more strait-forward. I was happy to see that even the user guide is PC oriented instead of having a console controller as the starting point for controlling gameplay.
Another plus for PC versions: this game can show well on my 1920 x 1200 resolution, which is better than a console version, even on HD.
I purchased the Limited Edition of the game. It offers 6 unlock bonuses and all the future map updates. With my 4870 graphics card, this game should run smoothly.
