Gear for MacBook Air 11”
Why would my wife need a Keyboard Cover? Well, she uses a second generation MacBook Air 11”. We got her the smallest mac available because it goes everywhere with her. She uses it at work, in a lab nextx to a blackboard, and at home, usually in the kitchen, so she has gotten herself a very solid clamshell case in teal from a company named Incipio to protect the computer. The case came with a matching teal keyboard cover.
Although the clamshell case is very well designed, with a rather nice texture and great color, and, the keyboard cover does not fit correctly. It is not designed for this particular keyboard. It seems to be designed for the first edition Air because the top row function keys are too big. As a result, the keyboard cover wouldn’t fit at all over the keyboard cover initially. She actually had to cut it down with a scissors to fit it over the keyboard.
As it is now, the keyboard cover leaves a lot to be desired. It puts up a lot of resistance to typing, which I find very bothersome and remove whenever I use her computer. She finds it bothersome also, but uses the cover in the interest of keeping the computer clean. Another problem is that the computer won’t close with the ill-fitting Keyboard Cover

I recently received a colorless VERCO keyboard cover from Rearthusa.com which is supposed to be designed and made for this Macbook Air. Although they sent it to me to review, I gave no promise of a positive review, only an honest one.
Turns out, I can be both positive and honest. In fact, I am really impressed with how much better the fit is over the keyboard. It does not put up resistance to typing and it fits over all the keys as it ought to. Even more importantly perhaps, the computer can actually close with the Verco cover on, which wasn’t the case with the Incipio freebee cover. No Scissors Needed!

My wife is still using the Verco keyboard cover. She said that typing is much easier and the convenience of being able to close the computer with keyboard cover on is huge for her. Also, even though she liked the teal color of the old keyboard cover, she says she likes the look of this one more because it actually fits and looks as if it was designed for the computer instead of literally cut by hand to fit.
