Gazing at the Future: First Boot of Macbook Air 11.6”

In this video, you’ll see the first boot of my wife’s new MacBook Air 11.6”. This one retails for $1199. See my previous post for details about the computer and its unboxing.
The more time I spend with this computer, the more I think it is the future, just like Mr. Jobs said.
It’s not mine. It’s my wife’s, but I have had a smile on my face from the minute I opened it.
The computer boots up really fast to Apple’s Welcome message. The 125GB SSD shows up as 109.09 GB without any installation, just fresh upon first boot. The Air comes preloaded with iLife 2011.
A few pleasant surprises:

The small speakers are not bad, pretty good, actually
The screen is gorgeous
It is also very readable
The trackpad size is impressive, especially compared to the $349 Acer my wife was using previously.
Crazy fast with everything running on SSD. One bounce to load each program. Super fast
Playing 720p videos from YouTube, there is no lag, nothing… so nice.

This is the future, just like Steve Jobs said. Check it out. If you can afford it, buy it.
