I needed something to control the media center Mac Mini better, so I ordered the diNovo Mini keyboard by Logitech.
Key features include:
- Bluetooth 2.0
- built-in trackpad
- palm sized QWERTY keyboard
- rechargeable lithium ion batteries
- Works with XP, Vista, Windows 7, PS3. Doesn’t say Mac, but I think it should. If it doesn’t, I’ll use it with my Playstation.
- Built-in backlight
Why this one?
- Small usable size was key
- Rechargeable Battery Built-in, no need to look for AAA or AA batteries
- More importantly, since it is Bluetooth, there is no external dongle.
- Also, I like the built-in backlight and mouse.
- No dock needed like high-end Logitech remote.
Unboxing
- It comes in a nice green and black box.
- At first appearance, the box looks like easy mac packaging, but it’s actually not so easy to open.
- After taking off the cover, I uncover a documentation box that says “designed to move you” containing userguide, software, cleaning cloth.
- Under that documentation box is a Bluetooth adapter, a replacable lithium ion battery, and the AC adapter.
- The keyboard is tightly wrapped in protective plastic.
First impressions of the Mini Keyboard
- The keyboard is about the size of one and a half iphones, with a protective black
- cover.
- The key-press reminds me of the keys on a Nokia or Samsung sliding cell phone.
- There is a switch to toggle mouse control: switch between pointer and directional pad.
- The back opens for a battery compartment and has a switch to toggle between PC and PS3.
- Simple installation of battery and Bluetooth adapter.
- Orange backlight or Green backlight seems to depend on toggle of mouse function.
Seems great on first impression… I’ll start using this right away and get back to you soon with my review.
Have you found something better for your media center?
Please post thoughts and questions in the comments. I would be happy to respond.
